Risk Integrated Risk Manager

As a North Europe Integrated Risk Manager, you will play a key role in driving and delivering the objectives and duties of the North Europe IRM team. Reporting to the Nordics-based Senior Integrated Risk Manager, you will be a key member of the North IRM team, operating across Ireland, Nordics, and UK. You will be expected to work across multiple topics and with a number of risk leaders, demonstrating flexibility and awareness of strategic priorities.

This role is deliberately wide-ranging and demanding of a curious mind and determined work ethic. The topics and responsibilities are varied, providing expertise to and influencing senior management within Risk in the North Europe region. Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • acting as a sparring partner for North Europe functional managers and senior management on IRM matters;
  • driving improvement across existing business processes;
  • acting as a project manager related to risk and regulatory initiated projects;
  • supporting and challenging the quality implementation of the risk control framework within DLL Nordics;
  • managing and coordinating the Nordics ‘Processes of Material Significance’ (PoMS);
  • contributing to the Risk Appetite statement within Nordic countries and monitor on adherence to this Risk Appetite Statement – also contribute to overall North Europe Risk Appetite Statement;
  • contributing to material deltas / inputs to support Nordics Risk Controller conclusions; and
  • further improving operational risk management within DLL Nordics.

Your Function:

Day to day:

  • Work closely with Nordics and Regional risk and project leaders, taking responsibility for key workstreams, initiatives and pan-regional deliverables
  • Initiate and coordinate improvements based on own observations of risks and processes
  • Support the design and maintenance of local policies and create awareness amongst the appropriate target groups
  • Contribute to the management of the integrated risk / Regional 2LoD agenda and control management processes
  • Support and continuously improve the Nordics and Regional ORM structure, including incident reporting and feedback loops as well as escalation of potential fraud events.
  • Advise management on developing recommendations for process and control improvements and contribute to local (Risk) strategy.
  • Liaise and work together with many different stakeholders, both local and international

  • Successful delivery of own projects / initiatives within the scope of IRM contribution and control
  • Strong team player and leader – facilitate the delivery of the North Europe Risk department and IRM team’s KRIs, notably Risk Control, Risk Appetite, Operational Risk Management, IRM 2LoD consulting

Your Profile:

Essentials:

  • Degree in finance / business economics or equivalence
  • Seasoned experience in risk management
  • Experience in project and process management
  • Confidence in speaking to and influencing senior management
  • Confident MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Organized and structured approach, whilst being comfortable working in complex environments with constant deadlines
  • Friendly and approachable member, who can network and help encourage enthusiasm in colleagues, customers and members to reach common goals.
  • Task-focused problem solver, using professional knowledge to manage and prioritize multiple requirements
  • Excellent ability to articulate thoughts in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Willing to “go the extra mile” when required, via a flexible / adaptable approach to daily workload
  • Excellent administration, organisational and record keeping skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task.
