Credit Underwriter, Food & Agriculture

As a Credit Underwriter for Food & Agriculture you will be expected to execute the risk management and credit underwriting processes within DLL, based on assigned authority levels and targets, to support achieving expected loss targets.

Day to Day

  • Assess completeness and topicality of client information as a basis for credit and risk analysis and decisions.
  • Analyze risk of customer/end-user, local vendor or local dealer as thorough basis for decision making on local vendor/dealer agreements and end-user credit applications.
  • Take independent, quick, and efficient decisions on credit applications within authorization level leading to approval as presented, conditional approval, further gathering of information or rejection.
  • Liaise with sales on further actions.
  • Monitor the credit/risk profile of DLL and advise to stay in control and give DLL the opportunity for corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the fine-tuning and tailoring of credit and risk policies and regulations.
  • Develop local credit and risk management policies/guidelines to ensure a proper fit with local regulations and requirements.
  • Monitor sales on given mandates and coordinate with sales to achieve alignment in credit and risk processes.
  • Participate in customer calls to address risk questions and concerns for proper underwriting due diligence.

Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Existing knowledge or prior experience working in the food and agriculture industry.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the field of credit analysis, underwriting and risk management or in the case of university degree some relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of vendor programs, score card techniques, online credit system financial analysis, portfolio analysis, in- and external regulations and credit/risk management policies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Execute credit and risk analysis and underwriting activities and liaise with relevant others on subject in self-starting way.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and written with other members of the team, clients, and prospective clients.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Occasional travel required.

Applicable Pay Range

$71,647.27- $100,000.00

DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
