New Business Development Manager Energy Transition

Join the Energy Transition Unit (ETU) in its ambition to become a leading enabler of the energy transition. Our mission is to support the world’s transition to clean energy and energy-efficient equipment by providing asset finance solutions that make the acquisition of green technologies easier. Working with a team of dedicated, specialist members whilst leveraging our asset and risk management expertise and our partnering DNA and culture we will become trusted advisors to our existing vendors helping them and us on the Energy Transition journey.

The New Business Development Manager is a new role within DLL. You will help contribute to the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future.  You will focus on Business Development activity in our vendor, direct and Rabobank channels primarily in Europe.

Day to day:

Using your existing knowledge, experience and contacts you will grow the vendor and direct proposition and our customer base from the outset. You will;

  • Identify, scope, prioritise and target potential key customers within the energy transition market.
  • Develop a prospect list and identify prospective customers, developing and executing a prospect plan to gain new clients.
  • Be part of a highly networked international matrix environment.
  • Use your creativity and structuring knowledge to develop customer relevant solutions including non-interest income solutions.
  • Manage complex and structured accounts and work collaboratively with our risk team and other internal functions.
  • Work with Rabobank to develop any of their identified opportunities.
  • Use your experience and finely honed relationship building capability at senior levels in organisations to build long lasting partnerships with DLL.
  • Be an excellent team player.
  • Be comfortable preparing and presenting documentation for review in credit and risk approval committees.

  • New business volume and portfolio;
  • Margin;
  • New programmes developed;
  • Being compliant with financial regulations;
  • Using our C-value approach to business development.

Essentials:

  • >10 years’ asset finance industry, leasing business work experience in an international and matrix setting
  • Proven track record of building new business.
  • Excellent risk assessment skills.
  • Strong team player with a “can do” attitude and growth mindset.
  • Solid influencer and excellent in (remote) stakeholder management, able to effectively navigate on all organisational levels.
  • Robust negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of products, market, business models, risk, legal structures, asset management, and commercial developments
  • Solid understanding of business drivers and excellent business development skills
  • Experience in managing long, complicated sales processes and negotiating legal documentation including operating / program agreements
  • Ability to influence management decisions
  • Experience communicating complex information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent business English (both spoken and written)
