Are you the sparring partner for business and IT leaders to bring strategy into practice by creating, embedding, and realizing business and technology architecture taking long term in- and external developments into account? Are you the business architect who motivates, inspires and facilitates a team of solution architects and wants to work closely with the business stakeholders on transforming the business? Are you the person who really understands the business processes and defines the best solution for their problems in the contract management and finance area?

In Europe we have started a large transformation program to optimize and grow our business. Contract management and finance are key transformation topics in this journey. The transformation is both a business and IT transformation, as well as an optimization of the way of working towards more Agility and better time to market.

You will be part of the architecture team in Europe and guide the solution architects in their day-to-day work. Together with the area lead and IT delivery lead you form the area triangle that drives the strategic agenda of the area.

You are

  • A business architect with over 10 years of experience in the international Financial Services Industry.
  • A conceptual thinker who continuously balances long term strategic direction with short term needs. You are result driven and able to translate business strategy into business and technology architecture.
  • An excellent communicator in speech and writing who can easily interact on C-1 level in the company, able to convey complex process and IT subjects in executive terminology.
  • An out of the box thinker who can understand business problems and together with a team can define the best solution for the problem.
  • An eager person who really wants to understand how the business works and who develops ways to improve the processes and IT solutions.
  • Pragmatic during implementation of the architecture design when necessary to drive change forward while keeping long term objectives into account.
  • Comfortable in working in an Agile delivery model enabling fast delivery of the investment portfolio continuously ensuring strategy objectives are achieved as well.
  • A networker, sensitive to the business domain and able to influence a divers stakeholder community. You are the one who can help your stakeholders to prioritize the demand for change.
  • A coach for your peers in architecture and a mediator for stakeholders with different interests in terms of investment priorities.

Day to day:

  • Participate in the analysis and evaluation of the long-term strategic and operating planning of Europe to ensure that the Architecture objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the Target State Architecture for Europe and specifically for the contract management and finance area.
  • Develop and maintain the Portfolio Roadmap.
  • Chair the Area Architecture syncs.
  • Oversees the architecture work in your area, divides the work together with the team and manages expectations with business stakeholders.
  • Guide the creation of Solution Visions when new solutions enter the European landscape.
  • Sponsor and facilitate innovative projects, to prove the impact in terms of opportunities or threats for Group EU Management.
  • Motivate, inspire, and facilitate a team of Solution Architects securing architecture alignment in investment portfolios and program roadmaps.
  • Execute architecture governance by enforcing the architecture process in the organization to make and capture decisions made regarding architecture.
  • Govern the architecture repository to ensure the European architecture meets the DLL ArchiMate Standards and actively coach Solution Architects on the use of ArchiMate.
  • Ensure that the respective business, application, information and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.
  • Support the creation of Architecture Standards that clearly define the architecture framework for the Solution Architects to achieve re-use, economies of scale and compliance. Actively communicate these standards and continuously improve them to meet market best practice and customer needs.

Essentials:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Enterprise, Lead or senior Solution Architecture, preferably in the financial industry.
  • University level Education (MSc).
  • Excellent communication in speech and writing in English.
  • Certified for TOGAF © and ArchiMate ©.
  • Thorough understanding of financial industry in general.
  • Experience in business and IT strategy development.
