As a (Sr.) IT Disaster Recovery Coordinator, you will be a member of the SCC Governance team, responsible for maintaining the disaster recovery (DR) plan and overseeing the execution of DR procedures, including strategizing and leading failover drills. You will support technical recovery execution, processes, and procedures. Additionally, you will develop and implement strategies to increase the maturity level of IT disaster recovery in the organization, aligned with organizational goals.

Day to day:

  • Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing DR procedures and understand their interdependence.
  • Participate in assessments of the impact of potential disruptions in IT services, including declaring a disaster and activating the DR plan.
  • Manage IT DR documentation, including policy and procedure updates, with a focus on maintaining the most up to date versions.
  • Facilitate the design, execution, and continuous improvement of IT DR plans through tabletop exercises and real DR testing.
  • Update and maintain records, roles/responsibilities, processes, and procedures, for DR operations.
  • Coordinating the development, training, and exercising of IT DR plans.
  • Establish and maintain detailed DR communications.
  • Interface with IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of a regular cadence.
  • Establish testing methodologies to ensure that all plans are sound and secure.
  • Schedule and lead DR exercises.
  • Record results, validate outcomes, document and report outcomes of DR exercises and tests.

Essentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven experience in IT Disaster Recovery.
  • Thorough knowledge of disaster recovery strategy, planning, implementation, compliance, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Ability to comprehend IT solutions and communicate with subject matter experts and stakeholders
  • Understand overall concepts, including basic networking, hosting, and security.
  • Intermediate level hands-on experience with infrastructure technologies such as networking, backup & restore, and storage.
  • Comfortable with creating, updating, and executing on the roadmap for TR/DR service, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders and organizational goals.
  • Comfortable dealing with the unexpected and ability to make sound judgments.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational and planning skills
  • Comfortable leading meetings and handling disagreements

Extras:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the IT disaster recovery field, including creating, implementing, and testing IT DR plans.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus, such as:
    • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • ITIL Foundation Certification
