The Benelux General Manager (GM) will be co-responsible for the ambition to grow the leasing market share in the Netherlands, which will be supported by a strong Center of Excellence who will develop competitive financial products for all channels in the Rabobank Group (Wholesale, Retail NL and DLL Vendor & Dealer Finance). This group will enable very strong RV based products in the Dutch market and strong remarketing capabilities working closely with our Global Asset Management and the Global Remarketing Group.

We are looking for people that have a passion for delivering excellent customer service, managing high-performance teams, a strong focus on operational excellence, fostering a commercial growth culture and extensive experience with large transformations. Furthermore, Benelux will be the first country that will implement a giant transformation to replace the contract management system with a new market standard (which will impact the full value chain and system landscape) and change our way of working. CRM capabilities will first be implemented in Benelux, so this means complete IT / Digital transformation that needs to be led in the coming years which will serve as a blueprint for the rest of the European markets. The General Manager Benelux will report to the General Manager Europe and will be part of the Market Forum and Leadership Team of Europe. You are

As the General Manager, you will be end responsible for a country and the implementation of the global DLL MTP and promotion of our DLL value proposition towards our customers. Together with the different Business Units you will support the execution of the commercial strategy and drive partner relationship and customer satisfaction. To build the organization’s foundation, you will focus on Risk and Finance framework and policies management. Also, back-office services execution, optimization and IT & processes improvements are part of your responsibilities. You support development and implementation of HR initiatives aligned with the company strategy. Ensure Legal, Compliance and regulatory aspects are in place and monitored through audit procedures.

Day to day:

  • Lead and manage the country’s organization and its portfolio in an efficient and effective way and within corporate and divisional standards and policies.
  • Identify business opportunities in the local environment and match these effectively with corporate and divisional priorities, capabilities and constraints.
  • Balance short-term and long-term strategic goals, including those on the country’s overall profitability, new business growth, operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the commercial leadership in the regional MT to develop and implement both the regional and local commercial and operational business strategy and annual plans for Benelux.
  • Have an eye for operational excellence in all business processes, thereby ensuring cost effective, speedy and qualitative support and service to customers.
  • Translate business strategy into specific actions and clearly communicate these to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Balance commercial and risk-oriented objectives within the country’s operations and ensure compliance with corporate and local external policies and regulations. Manage all required follow-up actions for the country in order to minimize risk exposure and always ensure compliance and in-control state of the organization.
  • Excellent, authentic Future Leader who lives the values, inspires, encourages and facilitates a team/group so that its members are enabled and desire to contribute to a collective result in a network organization.
  • Ensure execution of all back-office services, incl. contract management, customer services, C&R, legal, asset management & remarketing, credit underwriting, insurance processing and brokerage, accounting, funding, and cash application. Implement new vendors, products, and systems, increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Transform the IT and digital capabilities in Benelux with implementing a new contract management system and technology and transform the full origination capabilities including an effective CRM system and successful implementation of DLL’s data strategy (with customer and asset master data management). The Benelux will serve as pilot country to get this complex transformation accomplished in Europe.
  • Directly lead the Leasing Competence Center of Rabobank Group and lead the Channel team to serve Rabobank wholesale business in NL with a strong leasing proposition and sell the value-added leasing products in the Retail NL channel.
  • Co-responsible for growing leasing market share in NL, with responsibility for leasing products in all three channels; DLL Vendor Finance, Wholesale NL and Retail NL.
  • Proven track record with innovation and effective product management to have a leading market suite of leasing products which are needed to increase the market share in targeted segments.
  • Proven executive stakeholder management skills and experience to be able to effectively lead the growth of leasing products in the Rabobank channels (Retail / wholesale).

Essentials:

  • Relevant education to minimum equivalent of Masters - MBA level preferred, and several years of relevant experience.
  • Executive leadership management experience with large organizations and proven track record of driving accountability.
  • Experience within a customer-driven international financial services organization or with a financing unit within a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience with global vendor finance and/or car leasing businesses is a must.
  • Solid understanding of business drivers and excellent business development skills.
  • Track record of driving a change project in a process-driven organization.
  • Proven experience in managing diverse business lines in a multi-site environment.
  • Proven track record in IT and Digital transformation.
  • Proven track record in commercial transformation and innovation / product development and management.
  • International orientation through preferably having already worked outside the native country.
  • Excellent business English (both spoken and written). Other languages, while not essential, will be considered as a plus.
  • Executive presence including a high level of interactive, presentation and communication skills. Leadership and project management skills.
  • Proven track record in Executive Stakeholder Management in complex organization set-ups.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and connect within a network organization, customer focused, and interaction with others based on persuasion with personal impact.
