We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead an ambitious Control Optimisation and Rationalisation program across our global network. We are seeking somebody to spearhead a global risk transformation initiative, with a sharp focus on cultivating a strong risk culture, optimising controls, integrating AI, and ensuring operational resilience. This role involves overseeing the review, improvement, and consolidation of existing controls, leveraging advanced technology to drive efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering sustainable, technology-driven process improvements.

Day to day:

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Develop and execute the project plan for control optimisation and rationalisation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and incorporating / leveraging digitalisation, automation and AI strategies.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Drive the identification, assessment, and streamlining of existing controls, focusing on reducing redundancies and improving operational efficiency through automation and analytics.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, while integrating modern technologies to enhance control mechanisms.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies, including technology-specific risks related to AI and automation implementations.
  • Track and report project performance using appropriate KPIs and governance frameworks, highlighting technology-driven improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Work in very close collaboration with key collaborators in Operational Risk and Finance and shareholder.
  • Collaborate with control owners, risk and compliance teams, process managers, IT, and technology partners and Transformation teams to ensure seamless integration of all proposed solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather insights on current challenges and drive technology-focused decision-making.
  • Provide clear, timely, and transparent project updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, emphasizing progress in digital transformation initiatives.

Process Improvement, Technology Integration & Change Management

  • Identify opportunities to integrate digitalisation, AI tools and automation platforms to simplify controls without compromising risk mitigation.
  • Support the development and implementation of standardised control frameworks that incorporate data-driven monitoring and analytics.
  • Champion change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new control processes, including training on new tooling.
  • Support the development of training materials and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to embed best practices and leverage emerging technologies effectively.

Essentials:

  • 10+ years experience in Risk management is critical.
  • Proven experience as a Transformation Lead / Project Manager, ideally in risk, compliance, internal controls, or process optimisation projects.
  • Strong understanding of control frameworks, risk management, regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, ISO, COSO), and familiarity with emerging AI and automation technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive digital transformation projects, including the integration of AI / data and automation solutions into traditional control environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple locations, business functions and technology teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess and improve control environments using data-driven insights.

Desirable:

  • Experience in financial services, technology, or highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools, AI analytics platforms, and automation systems.
  • Change management experience (e.g., PROSCI, ADKAR) with a focus on digital transformation.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, PMP).
