As an Engineering Lead, you are responsible leading and coaching agile teams on architecting, designing, building and delivering business applications for DLL’s North American Regional APIs. You should have experience with cloud-native APIs in a serverless environment with NodeJS and Typescript. You will be responsible for driving best practices in API Design, Serverless Cloud Architecture, and performant APIs that serve our business-critical applications. In this role you will be responsible for working with the product organization to understand business requirements and ensuring the delivery is meeting that business need. You will lead multiple Agile delivery teams to ensure team success and coach them to size, manage scope, design optimal technical solutions, identify and mitigate technical risks. You will also work with the members of your team to develop themselves and achieve their personal and organizational career goals.

In this role you will be part of the team setting the vision for the North American Regional APIs both technically and strategically. The various initiatives for the team affect multiple business units, large end-user populations, portfolio and contract management, and other areas of solution delivery within the organization. As such, this position is critical to ensuring the appropriate stakeholders are engaged in evaluating the optimal solution design to meet our complex business needs. The position requires someone with excellent communications skills (verbal and written), the ability to manage multiple requirements with various levels of definition, and the desire to effectively work with disparate teams throughout a diverse business community.

Day to Day

  • Lead the definition, architecture design, development, testing, delivery, & support of APIs built in a serverless Azure environment.
  • Design, understand, and manage cloud (Azure) serverless architecture.
  • Validate that technical solutions can be practically executed, properly integrate with the existing application portfolio, and coordinate with enterprise strategies and roadmaps.
  • Solve complex business issues through the application of innovative technical solutions for escalated and high priority issues.
  • Partner with Business and IT leaders to convert needs into outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Owners and other cross-functional development teams to support business value delivery.
  • Plan and integrate the work activities of virtual IT teams.
  • Coach and mentor team members for career development and ensure an engaged and motivated work environment.
  • Drive implementation of innovative solutions, development standards, IT processes, systems architecture, and design patterns to improve IT delivery process and automation.
  • Ensure business continuity and risk management practices are followed.
  • Ensure applications stay on up-to-date hardware and software components for a secure environment.

Essentials

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Information Science or related technical field.
  • Experience with developing microservices utilizing Node.js & Typescript.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, specifically in building APIs and supporting backend services with relational DB and/or NoSQL DB.
  • Experienced in designing and building Node.js APIs.
  • Experienced in designing and building complex serverless Cloud APIs, preferably Azure.
  • Expert in unit and automated integration testing APIs as part of a fully automated CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experienced in API-first design and development using Open API 3.X.
  • Experienced in crafting sellable API Products.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Able to lead technology multiple teams with diverse technology experience and skillsets.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise software patterns.
  • Excellent team player with proven ability to influence.
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.
  • Able to give and receive open, honest feedback and to foster a highly collaborative environment.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills for team development.
  • Possible Travel (10%).
  • Experience within financial services and/or leasing is a plus.

Applicable Pay Range

$144,157.60 - $216,236.40

DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
