Finance & Control Accounts Payable Officer

Your function

As the Accounts Payable officer, you will be responsible for providing operational and functional support to the Financial Controller with specific responsibility for processing payments to customers and suppliers and other funding transactions, as well as general accounting responsibilities, for the Australian and New Zealand group and joint venture companies.

Day to day

  • Process payments to vendors, suppliers and financial institutions using Westpac Corporate Online banking system
  • Monitor and maintain daily liquidity across all entities
  • Timely processing and payment of supplier invoices including accurate coding to appropriate P&L or Balance Sheet accounts
  • Support in the timely completion of month end close documentation. Be able to investigate data and identify anomalies. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial records
  • Sustain and enhance appropriate levels of internal controls in Finance department. Involvement with controls testing under the global Risk Control Framework
  • Work closely with other Finance team members and be flexible to step outside regular day-to-day responsibilities when required for special projects or in case of other team member absence.
  • Involvement in Finance initiatives to enhance efficiencies, improve processes, and various other initiatives.

Your Profile

  • Proficient in financial software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP Concur, and excel
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with a proven ability to handle high-volume of transactions
  • At least 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • Engaged, enthusiastic and keen to develop skills to make a positive contribution to Finance team outputs
  • Flexible and able to manage competing priorities
  • Good verbal and written skills
